Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini says he has decided to sell the club to Chinese investors, stating that he will leave “within a month”.

Corriere dello Sport reports that the eccentric owner, who is famed for sacking coaches, has had meetings with the Chinese company who have offices in London, China and Dubai, and he went on to explain the reasons why he wanted to sell.

“I love the game and I love Palermo," Zamparini told the newspaper.

"But I am tired, not of the game but the way in which it is governed. The time has come to think about the need to draw up a plan.”

"With Palermo I wrote a long and prestigious history, I want to hand over the company in good hands, but we are dealing with a group that has clear ideas about the future of the club and the objectives that need to be achieved.”

“Their project is to build the stadium, a sports center, and of course to acquire the majority of the company.”
