Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has opened the door for Javier Pastore. “He can leave if he wants to, just like Edinson Cavani.”

The Argentine is wanted by numerous top clubs including Juventus, Roma, Manchester City and Chelsea.

“I have received offers for Pastore from Real Madrid and Barcelona, but Palermo's intention is to keep him for a few more years,” Zamparini told Teleradiostereo.

“Having said that, if the player comes to me and says he wants to leave, then he will be allowed to go, just like Cavani.

“Palermo's policy is to release those who want to go or who have already had their time. We won't be selling Pastore, Josip Ilicic or Abel Hernandez without a suitable offer.”

The last few weeks have been filled with speculation that the new Roma under Thomas Di Benedetto will pour money into snatching Pastore from the Sicilians.

“Perhaps the Romans don't like me, as I say what I think, but I've never had anything against them.

“I was asked what I thought of Di Benedetto. I hope he does great things, but if I hear he's already targeting our players before even taking over the club, then I say some things ought to be done at the right time.”
