Zamparini is notorious for his colourful language and outlandish statements, so turned his gaze to Sirigu.

“Our goalkeeper never comes off his line, not even if you kick him in the backside,” the President told Radio Sportiva.

“Pastore is a great player and his form has suffered from the difficulties the whole team is having. Pastore is the biggest talent in world football after Leo Messi.”

The patron sacked Delio Rossi after an historic 7-0 defeat to Udinese and brought in former Perugia boss Cosmi.

“Rossi is a great Coach, but he no longer had that rapport with the team. Cosmi is the right choice to shake up the side.

“All the players seemed to take time out, but they need to take the situation in hand again. Cosmi has a contract until June, so it depends on what he does before then.

“Cosmi is known as a man with grit. He was chosen by our future director of sport and is an excellent motivator, even if his teams have never achieved much on the field.

“If we string together three consecutive wins, then we can get back into the Champions League race.”
