Exactly two weeks after announcing his intention to sell up, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has backtracked, insisting that he will never leave the club.

Zamparini was incensed following Palermo's 3-1 defeat to Milan at San Siro on November 10, questioning the integrity of the game after several poor refereeing decisions.

Interviewed in Italian magazine Oggi, Zamparini said: "I will never leave Palermo."

Interviewed in Italian magazine Oggi, Zamparini said: "I will never leave Palermo."

However, he didn't rule out seeking new investment, which could mean selling a percentage of his stake in the club and maybe even ceding control.

"I will hold on to the shares," he said.

"Among the possible buyers, there is an Arab prince who is a friend of mine. If he arrives, Pastore won't leave.

"Real Madrid have offered €25m through an intermediary."
