Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini tells Juventus to ‘believe’ in Paulo Dybala.

The Rosanero patron sold the forward to the Old Lady this summer, in a deal which could eventually be worth up to €40m, and says the forward has to play.

“Juve must believe in Dybala,” Zamparini told Tuttosport.

“[Coach Max] Allegri must believe in him. When I saw that he started from the bench in the Supercoppa and the first League match against Udinese, my heart sank.

“[Coach Max] Allegri must believe in him. When I saw that he started from the bench in the Supercoppa and the first League match against Udinese, my heart sank.

“I was amazed, and I wondered: ‘why did they buy him?’

“I sent a text to [Juventus general manager Giuseppe] Marotta and I said: ‘if you pair Dyabla and [Alvaro] Morata, you’ll get back to dominating’.

“Those two can destroy any defence, but it’s wrong to harness them with excessive tactical duties. If you do that, you lose 50 per cent of what they can do.

“For Paulo, I have only one piece of advice. He should find the right ruthlessness and desire, the way Javier Pastore has done at Paris Saint-Germain.”
