Maurizio Zamparini confirms Alessandro Diamanti has been frozen out by Palermo, while Edoardo Goldaniga “asked to leave”.

The Rosanero were relegated to Serie B last season, and a failed takeover means Zamparini still owns the club despite stepping down as President.

“Diamanti? They tell me he’s working well,” Zamparini shrugged, speaking to Sky.

“His contract gives him the right to train, as soon as we return to Palermo we’ll have a trainer just for him but he’s out of the picture, as is [Alessandro] Gazzi.

“They’re players who don’t fit into our future plans.

“Goldaniga is a player who, along with his agent, has asked to leave. We’ll try to fulfil his request, but someone has to come in to replace him.

“We’ll wait for [agent Federico] Pastorello, if the offers which come in for him are right and he’ll have the chance to play then he’ll go, because he’ll become a great player.

"[Ilija] Nestorovski and [Haitam] Aleesami will stay we reinforced the team at the beginning of last season. They’re absolutely not for sale, there’s no way. If I get offered €100m then I’ll go too.

“Nestorovski doesn’t have any offers right now, but [Andrea] Rispoli said at the start of the pre-season training camp that he wants to go to another club.

“If no-one asks for him though, how can he leave?”
