Cristian Zaccardo believes Francesco Totti and Giacomo Bonaventura should be at Euro 2016 in an exclusive interview.
The Carpi defender spoke to Football-Italia.net about what decisions he would make in place of Antonio Conte.
“I would’ve brought Bonaventura along, as he is a versatile and complete player who can be used in different positions and had a very positive campaign,” said Zaccardo.
“He is reliable and full of character.”

The Milan midfielder isn’t the only surprise pick Zaccardo would’ve made for Italy.
“I also would have gone for a Joker in the pack, a surprise: Totti. In the last two months he has been devastating and we were all able to admire the way he managed to change matches.
“He is in good shape and fired up, while the squad would’ve welcomed him back with open arms. He could’ve been a valuable card to be played off the bench in the final 30 minutes.”

“It can happen, as football always reserves surprises at international as well as club level. This year Leicester won the Premier League and in 2006 Italy were not the favourites for the final victory.
“On paper there are other teams that appear to be stronger than this Italy, but football is a wonderful sport because the strongest side doesn’t always win.”
