Juventus striker Simone Zaza is at the Mestalla to watch his new club Valencia. “It was not a casual choice, we pondered this carefully.”

The forward had been on loan with option to buy at West Ham United, but the Premier League outfit sent him back to base before activating the clause.

Now he is due to sign for Valencia with an option that becomes obligatory after 10 games or as long as the Spaniards are not relegated.

Zaza was pictured in the stands of the Mestalla this morning, where his new teammates will face Espanyol in La Liga.

“There are no regrets, we have a good rapport with Juventus,” his father and representative Antonio Zaza told Tuttomercatoweb.

“It’s quite simple: Simone wants to play and with all the champions in the Bianconeri squad, it’d be difficult for him to get that consistently.

“He just wants to play as much as possible and prove his worth on the pitch. Simone and I are naturally very happy with this choice to go to Valencia. It was not a casual choice, as we pondered this carefully.

“I hope Valencia can allow my son to show what he can do, something that wasn’t possible at West Ham.

“The objective for the future is naturally the Italy squad. My son never really left the Nazionale set-up and is still a part of it.

“I am convinced you’ll see the real Simone at Valencia.”
