Premier League pair Harry Winks and Ethan Ampadu are heading to Italy over the next 24 hours for their medicals, as the Tottenham man joins Sampdoria on loan and the Chelsea defender moves to Spezia.

The transfer window in Serie A closes on Thursday evening at 20.00 local time (19.00 in the UK).

Some final deals are getting over the line before then, with a few Premier League players coming to Italy.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Tottenham and England midfielder Winks will be in Genoa over the next 24 hours to undergo his medical and complete the loan move to Sampdoria.

That deal was also confirmed by Samp director of sport Carlo Osti following the 4-0 defeat to Salernitana at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Wales international defender Ampadu is set to have his medical tomorrow with Spezia.

He had been expected today, but Sky Sport Italia report that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants him in the squad for the midweek round against Southampton.

It is a return to Serie A for Ampadu, who spent last season on loan at Venezia.
