Javier Zanetti says that no decision has been made on whether this will be his last season as a player with Inter.

The Argentine has less than a year left on his contract and, given that he is 39, there is the chance that he could opt to retire in June.

“It’s still too soon to talk about a renewal,” the South American told Sky Sport Italia. “I’ll make a decision along with the President and the Coach.”

“It’s still too soon to talk about a renewal,” the South American told Sky Sport Italia. “I’ll make a decision along with the President and the Coach.”

The club captain was chief Massimo Moratti’s first signing when the Beneamata netted him in the summer of 1995.

Having won the Scudetto and the Champions League, he’s now part of a younger side who are being rebuilt.

“Inter’s first objective is to once again be protagonists and we are doing that,” added the veteran.

“It’s too soon to talk about our targets for this season, we are a new squad and we have to continue growing to get back to the highest levels.”

Inter are again four points behind leaders Juventus after their surprise 3-2 loss at Atalanta on Sunday evening.

“Juventus are a great team, an already established one. We are a young squad who are maturing…”
