Paulo Dybala will end his seven-year stay in Turin this summer after Juventus decided not to renew his contract, meaning there’s a chance that he could go on to shine elsewhere, becoming another regret for the Old Lady.

Joao Cancelo spent one year with the Bianconeri in the 2018-19 campaign before joining Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. In Turin, many considered him to be too attacking focused and inconsistent, something that Guardiola has turned into his best features.

The Portuguese full back has become one of the most exciting and electric full backs in the Premier League, leaving Juventus with a bitter taste in their mouths.

A similar story seems to be developing for Dejan Kulusevski. The Swede hardly featured under Massimiliano Allegri this season and his departure from the Old Lady in January was fairly understated, with many feeling that the Bianconeri got the better end of the deal.

Since his arrival in North London, the former Atalanta man has scored three goals and provided six assists in 13 appearances, quickly becoming a fan favourite for his tireless work rate and creative flair.

With Dybala set to departure for free in a few months, there’s a chance that he could return to his best elsewhere, becoming another source of regret for Juventus.

17 thought on “Will Dybala become another Juve regret like Cancelo and Kulusevski?”
  1. What regret? Kulusevski is a great player but just didnt fit.
Cancelo is doing that well because he is playing for an ultra attacking City.
Right Backs in Italy should know how to defend and how to attack. Cancelo cant really defend

  2. No
Dybalas importance has heavily declined the last 3 years due to way too many injuries and a habit to disappear in the big games in CL.

  3. neither Cancelo nor Kulusevski are regrets for Juve or are missed at Juve
so in that sense I hope Dybala will follow in the footsteps of those two

  4. In what way is Juventus regretting either of those players? Kulu simply did not fit with Juventus’ style and Cancelo was more of a defensive liability than anything else. I personally do not want to see Dybala leave, they may regret it if they don’t plan properly, but it will not anywhere close to the same as these two. World’s apart.

  5. All 3 players don’t fit under Allegri’s system. They are playing for managers who are able to use them properly. Juve got value for the sales, a win for Juve and a win for the player.

  6. No regret at all, the only regret I can think of for Juve in the last few years was Coman. He was still young and should have been used more and developed for Serie A. But that again was Allegri opting for other options. Chiesa today has a similar to him.

  7. Danilo for Cancelo, yeah sure genius move more like a severe downgrade and they had to give City cash as well. Thierry Henry another one that was cut short and look at the career he had but that was a long time ago. The wider issue is who is in charge of managing these players that have gone recently such as Kulusevski. I present to you PhD Max destroyer of football mankind or should I say Mad Max Fury slow ball.

  8. “A juve regret” eh Football Italia. As if we didn’t get 120 odd goals, a serie a MVP, and countless big moments on the way to the 5 scudetti with him. Get real. He’s leaving because of his wages/injuries, not because he disappointed here. It’s been anything but.
    Sheesh.

  9. Many fans think that a player would perform the same regardless of the formation, the team, style of play and the league they’re in.. Another example is Lukaku coudlnt perform the same as he did at Inter with 2 strikers

  10. Cancelo is a top player if Juventus play 352, but unfortunately we don’t. He could be a top winger too but Juventus needs cash and someone should be blamed for the loss to Ajax (he lost the ball and caused the away draw).
I do think he should be awarded a second chance.
I don’t miss the other two, I don’t miss Kingsley Coman either. They played below average.

  11. the only player Juve missed this season was Chiesa, he could have certainly made great difference with Vlahovic. Let’s hope when he comes back he won’t half the man he was before injury.

  12. As a Juve fan I regret Selling Spinazaola and Romero , not Kulusevski. Kulusevski could never cross a ball in front of 10 defender Italian teams . In England everyone plays wide open with at most 4 players defending at most. in italy it’s at least 10 defenders . And inter , They defend with 12 defenders ( ref included )

  13. What regrets do you mean?

Cancelo: Juventus took the player for Inter and sold him on for a nice profit. They have failed to properly replace him, but that`s on Paratici.

Kulusevski: Allegri has no idea how to use him, happy that the youngster was set free – for his own benefit.

Dybala: No, his wage (demands) are not justified.

  14. In some departments we have a great team but it feels like a bunch of misfits slapped together under a system that no one can really find a place to make their own.
