In the spring of 2020, Juventus missed out on Jude Bellingham after he visited their training ground, with their offer failing to prove convincing.

The 20-year-old English midfielder joined Real Madrid for over €100m from Borussia Dortmund in the summer and has immediately impressed in the Spanish capital, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in his first nine appearances across La Liga and the Champions League.

Bellingham emerged as an exciting talent at Birmingham City and spent three years with Dortmund before making the move to Spain. In Germany, he scored 24 goals and provided 25 assists across 132 games.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Bellingham and his family visited Turin in the spring of 2020 to meet with Juventus, visiting the club’s headquarters and training ground.

He was presented an offer, which proved tempting economically but saw him sent to the club’s Under-23 side with the idea of progressing slowly toward the first team.

Bellingham seriously considered Juventus’ offer but ultimately decided to head to Dortmund after they submitted a €30m offer and a promise of first team football.
