West Ham United are closer than ever to M’Baye Niang after reports Milan have lost patience with the striker.

Only turning 22 last month, Niang is blessed with remarkable pace, but can also be a very frustrating figure upfront.

This season he has three goals and three assists in 17 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri.

West Ham had already shown interest over the summer, but now are more in need of a striker after Dimitri Payet demanded a transfer to Olympique Marseille.

The price-tag is in the region of €15m and there could be a loan with option to buy.

His performance when coming off the bench against Torino on Monday night irritated Coach Vincenzo Montella and the fans, as he seemed listless and failed to make the run to meet a cross during a late counter-attack.

Milan have seemed more balanced with Giacomo Bonaventura in the trident attack rather than Niang.
