West Ham are reportedly working hard to finalise a deal for Chelsea full back Emerson Palmieri, who has long been in the sights of Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.
The 28-year-old Italian-Brazilian has not been included in Thomas Tuchel’s plans in West London and he spent last season on loan with Lyon, where he performed well. Emerson returned to Chelsea last month and Lazio seemingly explored a possible deal, keen to add a new left back to Sarri’s squad.
As highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, West Ham are now in the final stages of securing a deal for Emerson. The Hammers are ready to pay Chelsea £13m plus £2m in add-ons for the Euro 2020 winner, and talks are also ongoing to try and agree personal terms.
The final details are now being resolved and things are expected to be completed at some point early next week.
Lazio will now have to look elsewhere if they want to pick up a new left back in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
