Tottenham coach Antonio Conte has been handed a £15,000 fine after his touchline argument with Chelsea tactician Thomas Tuchel.

The two coaches almost came to blows during Spurs’ visit to Stamford Bridge last weekend, a match which ended 2-2 after a tense and scrappy battle on the pitch. Conte and Tuchel already had a heated debate during the match, and things really boiled over after the full time whistle. An aggressive handshake saw Conte and Tuchel go head to head, having to be separated by staff.

As announced by the English FA, Conte has been handed a £15,000 fine as a result of his involvement in the scrap with Tuchel, who was handed a larger £35,000 fine as well as a one-match ban.

The decision means that Conte will be allowed on the touchline for Tottenham’s next match against Wolves, whilst Tuchel will be forced to watch the upcoming game against Leeds from the stands.
