Roma have moved a step closer to signing Ashley Cole, as they confirm his arrival in the Italian capital today.
The 33-year-old was increasingly speculated over the weekend as having opted to sign on with the Giallorossi, following the expiry of his Chelsea contract at the end of the 2013-14 season.

The 33-year-old was increasingly speculated over the weekend as having opted to sign on with the Giallorossi, following the expiry of his Chelsea contract at the end of the 2013-14 season.
On from the expectation of his arrival this morning ahead of medical tests reportedly set for this afternoon and evening, the club have pictured Cole at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.
Posting the above picture, Roma’s account wrote: “Welcome to Rome, Ashley! @TheRealAC3” in both Italian and English.
Cole is expected to commit to a two-year deal worth €2.3m a season, with an option in place for a third.
