There have been thunderstorms all over Italy in the last few days and more are set to come.

It currently seems as if Genoa-Udinese should go ahead this afternoon, despite major weather alerts in the port city.

The biggest problems are in Rome, where over the past week there have been hailstorms, heavy rain and flooding.

A weather alert is in place in the Capital for all of Monday going into Tuesday morning, including hail, lightning, strong winds and heavy rainfall.

It is currently an ‘orange’ weather alert, but there are reports it could be upgraded to red on Monday.

With over 50,000 expected to attend the match at the Stadio Olimpico, there is above all a concern of public safety and having so many people travelling in these conditions.
