Atalanta Coach Edy Reja commends his team's performance, but believes 'not winning against Roma was dramatic'.

The Dea recovered a 2-0 deficit and scored three goals to take the lead, but were caught by a Francesco Totti equaliser and saw the match end on 3-3.

“After going down by 2-0 after 15 minutes, things looked difficult for us, especially against a team like Roma,” Reja told the Press after the game. “But we believed in ourselves. We scored one goal and then we went for it.

“After going down by 2-0 after 15 minutes, things looked difficult for us, especially against a team like Roma,” Reja told the Press after the game. “But we believed in ourselves. We scored one goal and then we went for it.

“What's really dramatic is that we did not close the game after taking the lead. We had a few chances, and turning it into a 4-2 would have given us some very high odds of winning the game.

“Still, our performance demonstrated great intensity on our side. Our midfielders sacrificed themselves very much.

“We hit them on the flanks the way we planned, as they attack a lot with their fullbacks.

“I'd like the team to show this type of mentality, to go after the result and keep pushing as long as we have the strength for it. When that strength is exhausted, we can change some of the players.

“I feel that this team is recovering the spirit that we'd lost a few months ago. Now I have the sense that we're working the well. You can see that from the results and the performances.

“We must keep going and we can't afford any mistakes, because we've seen that right behind us Carpi are still picking up points.”
