Argentine-born striker Mateo Retegui took to the pitch of Coverciano for the first time today to train with Roberto Mancini and his new Italy teammates.

The 23-year-old Tigre forward was called up by Mancini for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against England and Malta, handing him his first chance with the Azzurri.

Retegui qualifies to play for Italy through his grandmother and could help solve Italy’s struggles to find a reliable goalscorer.

Retegui was seen in training with his Italy teammates and coach Mancini at Coverciano today, working with the squad for the first time.
