However, the Argentine’s agent-wife has now backtracked on her initial remarks, assuring the French giants were the ‘best’ team for him to join.
“PSG were the best option for Mauro and, for that reason, we accepted it,” she tweeted.
“Although they’ll be more challenging, they’re by far a top club who make our family proud.
“That’s my only statement on the matter. Thank you.”
