Milan are preparing their appeal against Mario Balotelli’s three-match ban, as Fiorentina goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano will be called to testify.

The striker was already due a one-game suspension after picking up a yellow card during the 2-2 draw at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday.

His comments to the officials after the final whistle prompted a further two-match ban, but Milan are mounting an appeal.

It is reported Balotelli said: “What the **** are you looking at?” to the goalline referee during a discussion with Viviano.

There are claims the Fiorentina goalkeeper could be called up to testify on the incident, because he is good friends with Balotelli and claims it was a simple discussion between opponents.

The Rossoneri will also point out Balotelli was tempted to walk off the field after racist chanting from the Viola fans.

He alerted the referee to the abuse and Fiorentina have been fined €20,000.
