Arsenal are again being linked with Emiliano Viviano after he was signed outright by Inter at the weekend.

The Nerazzurri netted Bologna's share in the player just days ago, but are expected to quickly move him on.

The Italian No 2 wouldn't be guaranteed first team football at San Siro given the presence of Julio Cesar, so he'll be sold or loaned to another club.

Reports in England on Wednesday are suggesting that Arsenal could make an offer of £8m for the Azzurri international.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking for a new goalkeeper this summer and Viviano had been previously linked.

Inter paid Bologna €4.2m for their 50 per cent share in him after his future was decided by a blind auction. That's around £3.8m.

"I have complete trust in Inter as this is a very important step in my career," the 25-year-old stated yesterday.

"I am happy and relaxed. I didn't want to talk about this until now and in future I'll do so only with the Inter directors. I have complete faith in them."

Roma have also taken an interest in the former Brescia 'keeper and Fiorentina fan.
