Roma and Chelsea are in full agreement for Mohamed Salah, but Fiorentina and Mattia Destro are holding up the transfer.

According to Calciomercato.it, the deal has been struck between the two clubs and personal terms agreed with Salah.

However, the move cannot be completed until Fiorentina received their ‘compensation’ for giving up on legal action against the player.

Salah had signed on in January as part of the Juan Guillermo Cuadrado move, a six-month loan with option to extend by another year for €1m and buy outright after two years for €18m.

However, the Egyptian refused to remain in Florence and claimed he had power of veto.

Fiorentina insisted he missed the deadline to use that veto and that the paperwork had never been registered with the authorities in the first place.

Inter had been close to signing Salah this summer, but the Viola blocked it by threatening legal action against the player and Nerazzurri.

Roma asked for Fiorentina’s permission to negotiate with Chelsea for Salah and promised to cut a deal with them as ‘compensation.’

This should be the arrival of Destro at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, but the sticking point is the formula of his move.

It could be a dry loan, a loan with option to buy or a ‘discount’ on his transfer fee.
