Fiorentina are keeping their fingers crossed that David Pizarro will decide to stay with the club for next season.

The player’s agent this week revealed that the midfielder wanted to quit the Tuscan outfit just a year following his arrival from Roma.

“He’ll now have a period in which to reflect,” Viola official Sandro Mencucci told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Let us hope that he makes a U-turn.”

The Chilean is contracted to the Stadio Franchi outfit until June 2014. He’s understood to only be on wages of €700,000 a season.

Pizarro, who spent part of last term on loan at Manchester City, scored three goals in 29 League games in 2012-13.
