“Maybe he was drunk! He was tired of being a football player and I got him to rediscover that joy of being a child and enjoying the sport. He found that here with us.
“He has been a consummate professional over the first few days at this club. It’s important for champions like this to frequent our young players, as they set the example and prove you don’t get to the top through talent alone. Sagna is a great man.”
Sagna was one of several high-profile January signings, along with former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro.
