The Ligue 1 campaign kicked off this evening and Italy international Balotelli was not involved, as he initially refused to attend pre-season training when trying to push through a move to Olympique Marseille.
“The player wants to leave, so it’s unlikely he’ll remain here,” Vieira confessed to Canal Plus after a 1-0 home defeat to Reims.

“We want players whose desire it is to go forward with the club. It’s a very complicated and difficult situation, so the club will try to do whatever is possible to help him leave.”
Balotelli is available with a €10m clause and has been linked with a return to Serie A, but Parma baulked at the salary and Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is not a fan of SuperMario.
