The midfielder spent most of the summer watching the protracted negotiations between Roma and Paris Saint-Germain until they finally agreed a loan move with option to buy at the end of the season.
He made just one appearance in the Giallorossi jersey for 12 minutes and then fractured his tibia in a training session.
Nonetheless, Wijnaldum did not lose hope and has been giving fans regular updates on his condition, today showing via Instagram his exercise routine and recovery progress.
