Here’s why VAR disallowed Danilo’s goal against Inter, causing controversy at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus thought they had gone 2-0 up against the harsh rivals, but referee Daniele Doveri disallowed Danilo’s goal following a silent VAR check.

The official explained that Danilo had touched the ball with his hand after hitting it with his left foot.

The rule states that handling the ball is an offence if a player ‘scores in the opponents’ goal’, however, Doveri’s decision is causing controversy as Danilo’s arm is held by Stefan de Vrij who was chasing the ball inside the box.

“It is not possible to score with the hand, but De Vrij holds Danilo’s arm making everything more complicated,” explained DAZN’s referee pundit Luca Marelli, a former Serie A referee.

  2. ill say it again, the refs are trying so hard for inter to win. So much harder then the inter players. How can it be handball when his arm is being held by inter defender. If not goal then penalty!?

  3. Sure. When it’s being held, it can go anywhere.

  5. inter always the first to cry foul with their deluded patron, while in the actual sense the referees are favoring them a whole lot since last season.
