Dries Mertens is training in Belgium to recover from an ankle injury and according to reports in Italy, the Napoli striker hopes to return to action within a month.

The Belgian striker picked up an ankle injury in the game between Inter and Napoli at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza earlier last week and is expected to remain out of action for a month.

Mertens posted a few videos on Instagram from Belgium, where he is training to recover from the injury.

The 33-year-old hopes to return to action against Juventus in the Italian Supercup final on January 20.

His teammate Victor Osimhen has also trained in Belgium to recover from a shoulder injury sustained in November, but the Nigerian striker could be eligible to play after the Christmas break as he will reportedly return to Naples on Wednesday.
