Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a move to Milan, but the Belgian striker said in December 2021 that he’d ‘never’ sign for the Rossoneri.

The interview was released with Sky Sport Italia at the end of 2021, effectively opening the door to his return to the Stadio Meazza the following summer.

He was struggling for playing under Thomas Tuchel at that time and admitted that leaving Inter was a mistake. Lukaku was also asked if he’d ever consider joining Inter’s harshest rivals, Milan and Juventus and his answer was clear.

The journalist didn’t even end the question, and Lukaku replied: “Never, never, never, never, never,” shaking his head repeatedly.

His lawyer Sebastien Ledure said on Thursday that he is not in talks with the Rossoneri. However, Milan owners are on good terms with Lukaku’s agency Roc Nation.

The Rossoneri would have the money to sign Lukaku following Sandro Tonali’s move to Newcastle, while Inter are pushing for a new loan deal for the Belgium striker.
