Rafael Leao has been recorded arriving at the Milan team hotel several hours after the rest of the squad, having spent the morning at Milanello undergoing fitness checks ahead of the Champions League semi-final against Inter

The Portuguese international arrived at the Melia hotel around lunchtime local time (shortly after 12.00 UK time) and was met by crowds of supporters and journalists as he swiftly made his way into the lobby.

It is still unknown whether or not Leao will have any involvement against the Nerazzurri on Wednesday evening, although the growing feeling according to reports, is that he is unlikely to start.

The 23-year-old went down hurt and was withdrawn 11 minutes into Milan’s 2-0 win over Lazio on Saturday afternoon, just days before the European edition of the Derby della Madonnina.

Despite the uncertainty over his fitness, Leao has insisted in the days leading up to the game, that he will do everything within his powers to make himself available to Stefano Pioli for selection.

However, recent reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Leao has not recovered from the adductor injury in his thigh in time to start against Inter on Wednesday evening, highlighting that there is a “line of caution” surrounding his name for the time being.
