The Italy squad celebrated their 1-0 win over Wales by gathering outside the team hotel with a speaker and singing the 1990 World Cup anthem.

Fans had already begun singing the song, Un’Estate Italiana (Italian Summer), during the game at the Stadio Olimpico this evening.

So when the team arrived back at the hotel, Lorenzo Insigne was wielding a speaker and the players gathered along with staff including Gianluca Vialli and Roberto Mancini to sing.

Of course, Vialli and Mancini were part of the 1990 squad that took third place on home turf, playing most of their games at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The original song was written and sung by Gianna Nannini and Edoardo Bennato, but although the official title is Un’Estate Italiana, it is commonly known for its refrain, Notti Magiche (Magic Nights).
