Italy forward Lorenzo Insigne saw his penalty saved as Toronto FC laboured to a 0-0 draw against New England Revolution.

With nine minutes remaining, the former Napoli ace had the chance to give his side the lead but his low-struck effort was pushed round the post by Revolution goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović.

It was Insigne’s second appearance for his new club and he is yet to find the back of the net.

Fellow Italians Federico Bernardeschi and Dominico Criscito also started the match at Gillette Stadium.

  1. Insigne have very bad records in scoring penalty in the pas 3 years.
He might be better to stop taking one.

  2. Up until 3 years ago he was automatic with the PK, Insigne and Immobile are weak minded Jorginho too, those 3 guys cost Italy World Cup bid

  3. Got to agree with Juvenesia comment – after 3 games in MLS – he is definitely NOT providing the immediate impact that Seba did. That is too bad – he almost seems overwhelmed and overmatched by the opponents – imagine $16 Million x 4 years ???
Anyway, it is only 3 games – hopefully he improves A LOT !!
