Manchester United officially announced the signing of Rasmus Hojlund on Saturday afternoon before introducing their new striker to the Old Trafford crowd ahead of their pre-season friendly against Lens.
The 20-year-old was met with a rapturous reception from the packed-out Theatre of Dreams, applauding the Stretford End in return as he made his way out of the tunnel.
Hojlund is a self-professed United fan and has been since childhood, as he confirmed in his first interview with the club’s website after signing.
“It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy, and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player,” Hojlund said.
“I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me.”
