Cremonese will wear a special shirt to pay tribute to Gianluca Vialli in their away fixture against Verona on Monday.

Vialli, who died on January 6, 2022, was a local hero in Cremona, the northern town where he was born and took his first steps as a professional footballer, after rising through Cremonese youth ranks.

For this reason, Cremonese shirts for the next game will feature a special patch with a Vialli’s picture and reading ‘Bye Luca’.

The club published a sneak peek of the commemorative shirt on their social media accounts, adding that the jerseys ‘will be auctioned’, with the earnings going to the Vialli and Mauro foundation.
