Salernitana star Antonio Candreva answers the question everyone was asking after his stunning equaliser against Inter: Did he mean that or was it a cross gone wrong?
The former Nerazzurri player seemed to spot Andre Onana off his line at the 90th minute and float a remarkable looping finish over the goalkeeper into the far top corner.
That gave Salernitana a point, cancelling out the Robin Gosens opener at the Stadio Arechi.
When he spoke to DAZN after the final whistle, the first question for Candreva was an obvious one: did he really mean do to that?
“No, it was supposed to be a cross for my teammates, but you need a bit of luck every now and then,” confessed the veteran.
“We are not satisfied with the first half performance anyway and fortunately we improved after the break. Inter are a great team with top players, but we stayed in the game.”
This result means Salernitana are now unbeaten in six rounds, including the last five all ending in a share of the spoils.
“With hard work, sacrifice, humility and enthusiasm, you can earn results. This is a precious point.”
