Gianluca Vialli has given his backing to former teammate Antonio Conte, as he prepares for his competitive debut as Italy Coach.

The Azzurri are in Oslo this evening for the start of Euro 2016 qualifying against Norway and the new CT on the bench has received further backing from one of his former teammates at Juventus.

“I am a little biased, we have been friend and teammates. He was my vice-captain,” Vialli has explained to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, whilst attending Soccerex in Manchester today.

“When he says that the national team has to play with pride, humility and ruthlessness, I am happy, because it is necessary to feel the pride in wearing the blue shirt.

“With great affection I wish him the best of luck for tonight’s game.”
