Undersecretary for Sport Valentina Vezzali reassures Serie A stadiums will soon be allowed to host more than 50 per cent capacity.
The Government decree ruled that open-air arenas can open up to 50 per cent capacity, while enclosed sporting venues will be 25 per cent full.
Only those with a Green Pass can enter, that is a digital certificate confirming vaccination, recent recovery from COVID-19 or a negative test within 48 hours of the event.
“Before leaving for the Olympics, I had proposed 75 per cent capacity for open-air events and 50 per cent under a roof,” Undersecretary for Sport Vezzali told Adnkronos news agency.
“I hope that 50 per cent for open-air will be seen as a good starting point. I am sure that as the vaccinations increase and the epidemiological situation develops, we can have larger percentages soon.”
Because access is only allowed with a Green Pass, clubs are so far not selling season tickets, as they are waiting to see how the situation advances.
