Marco Verratti would welcome Daniele De Rossi to Paris Saint-Germain should the midfielder ever leave hometown club Roma.

De Rossi’s future has been cast into some doubt this week after he was dropped from the Giallorossi starting line-up for the game against Atalanta.

Boss Zdenek Zeman explained that his omission was as a result of the way that the vice-captain had trained in the build up to the tie.

Asked about De Rossi’s situation, Verratti remained diplomatic – but admitted his appreciation of the 29-year-old.

“Daniele is happy in Rome,” the PSG man, on international duty with De Rossi, stated.

“However, if he was to join Paris SG then I’ll be very happy to play by his side. I would hope that such a transfer could happen, but I know that it would be very difficult.”
