These fresh comments come after he stressed only last Sunday that the player would be staying in Paris.

With reported interest from both Juventus and Inter, representative Donato Di Campli also revealed that a move back to the peninsula is 'unlikely'.

"The situation is extremely complicated, he’s tied to a very important contract until 2021," the agent stressed to Gazzetta dello Sport. "He wants to win and, with PSG as they are now, he cannot win.

"He’s been in Paris for 5 years and now has to make a decision: to earn a lot without winning or earn or to become a champion?

"It's not a question of money: anyone who buys Verratti would pay a lot. Because there is at least one thing for sure: he leaves PSG, it will be for a top European club."

The agent was then asked if there was interest in the midfielder from Italian clubs.

"There is, but I somehow doubt that this will be his final destination."

So will it be La Liga, the Bundesliga or the Premier League?

"A top European club."
