The Veneto outfit have now lost their last four Serie A matches but lie safely in mid-table in their first season back in the top flight.

Now, according to the 55-year-old, it is time for supporters to stop being critical and have some perspective.

“Any unhappy fans should remember that this team, other than having done very well so far this season, was in Serie B last season,” Tricella told Tuttomercatoweb.

“There are highs and lows but if we analyse recent matches, the team hasn’t played badly apart form in the Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”13″>Sampdoria game.

“Obviously in light of the results earlier in the season there has been a rise in expectations, so by consequence recent results have attracted criticism.

“The fans need to realise that the players want to do their best. It’s a shame that if the season finishes badly everyone will forget what they did at the start.

“I think it will be difficult for them to get into Europe. Parma are seven points ahead and even though they lost to Juventus they are playing very well.”
