Today’s training at Trigoria once again saw Vermaelen training separately, meaning he almost certainly won’t be available for the trip to Napoli.
However, the former Arsenal centre-back has posted a message on Instagram to assure fans that he’ll be back soon.

“Two months ago was my official presentation at Roma,” Vermaelen wrote under a picture of him signing one of the club’s shirts.
“Although I haven't been as much on the pitch as I hoped for, I'm very happy to be part of the club.
“[I’m] Working hard on my recovery now and trying to get back as soon as I can.”
