Giampiero Ventura believes tomorrow’s Europa League play-off with RNK Split is “a test of Torino’s ambitions.”

The Granata already got through one preliminary round and visit Croatia on Thursday evening.

“It is an important test that has to confirm our growth,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We know that it will be difficult, because RNK Split are a very organised side with interesting individual talents.

“The result is important, but at this moment does not represent the priority. I am more interested in seeing the growth of this team.

“If we want to emerge and if we have the ambitions to make ourselves a place at that level, we must be able to overcome difficulties like this.”

That maturity passes through not making calculations on the away leg in Split.

“For some time we’ve worked on looking beyond that type of mentality,” noted Ventura. “Toro go to win on every pitch and that will be the case tomorrow night.”

Toro unveiled their squad for the journey to Croatia, which does not include Alessio Cerci.
