Giampiero Ventura has tried to underplay the importance of Torino’s Europa League match with RNK Split tomorrow.

Il Toro host the Croatian outfit in the second leg of their European play-off clash, with the tie finely balanced at 0-0.

But the Coach has called for calm, with some calling it the biggest game in the club’s history.

“I think it’s an exaggeration to call this the biggest game of our careers,” he told a Press conference.

“But it is definitely important because we’ve been out of Europe for so long.

“We want to continue on this journey that began last year.

“I thought we played very well in Split. We could have scored at least once, but their approach made that difficult.

“We’ve got some new names that need to adapt, but I believe that we’re a better side than last season.

“We’ll approach this game with confidence, and hopefully a good result can give us a boost going into the first League game at the weekend.”
