New Italy team manager Gabriele Oriali has revealed his excitement for the role, and commented on the new-look Inter.

The 61-year-old was announced as the logistical leader for the national team on Monday, and has admitted that he can’t wait to start working with Coach Antonio Conte.

“For years this has been Gigi Riva’s role so I will call him up and ask for advice,” he told Libero.

“Conte called me and congratulated me. He knows I’m serious about my work and that I have experience in this field.

“I personally don’t really know Antonio, but I know he’s a Coach who gets the best out of the players – and I can’t wait to work with him.”

The Inter legend, who played over 250 League games for the club between 1970 and 1983, then gave his opinion on the new Nerazzurri.

“I like the new group Mazzarri has put together. They’ve done some very good work in the market.

“I don’t know if they can fight for the title this season, but it’s certainly a group that has been formed with intelligence.”
