Matias Vecino has told Inter medics he hopes to be fit for this weekend’s Milan Derby, despite leaving the Uruguay camp early.

The midfielder is fighting to be ready for Sunday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

He was released from international duty after feeling pain in his right hamstring and won’t take part in the friendly against Japan.

According to Sky Sport Italia, it was purely a precaution and he should be ready to face Milan in the Derby Della Madonnina on Sunday.
