Penarol right-back Guillermo Varela claims he rejected the chance to move to Inter – “I’m still intending to stay here”.
Having left Uruguay to move to Manchester United, the defender returned to his boyhood club in the summer of 2017, and he isn’t planning to head back to Europe in the near future.
“I’m still intending to stay here, that’s why I rejected the Inter option,” Varela said on Radio 1010.

“I want to enjoy the season finale with the club in the best way and try to win the Copa Libertadores, if we work the way we’ve done so far we have a good chance of doing that.
“Right now all I’m thinking about is Penarol and the tranquility I’ve found here.”
