Gian Piero Gasperini warns he could leave Atalanta – “I don’t see the scenario of a year ago”.

The Coach has done an incredible job with the Orobici, taking them into the Europa League last season and the Coppa Italia semi-finals this year.

“I’m here because a year ago I married [President] Antonio Percassi’s project,” Gasperini explained to L’Eco di Bergamo.

“I’ll stay if I can fulfil the wishes of the President. If the strategies change though, there’s no point in staying.

“Antonio Percassi’s project dictated three or four big players and then the lads from the youth team. Now it’s not like that. And I can’t share in that.

“This Atalanta is strong, there’s no doubt about that, but I look around and I see a transfer campaign which is subdued compared to the squad.

“I don’t see the scenario of a year ago, despite the fact the club made big investments in the summer.”
