Mark Van Bommel is ready to put his dreams of a return to PSV on hold in return for a new contract at Milan.
The midfielder, who will be 35 in April, has been linked with a switch back to his former club once his deal at Milanello expires in June.

However, speaking with Sky Sport Italia, the enforcer has suggested that he would sign a new agreement with the Diavolo.
“I’m happy at Milan and I’ll speak with Vice-President Adriano Galliani in the near future in order to understand what Milan want,” stated the man netted from Bayern Munich in January 2011.
“I have to thank Galliani and director Ariedo Braida for signing me at my age. I’ve always said that I want to end my career at PSV, but I still don’t know when that will happen.”
Van Bommel took his time to adjust to Serie A, but he’s now almost assured of a first team jersey under boss Massimiliano Allegri.
“I thought the Italian championship was a little strange at the beginning. Today I think it is a mix between Spanish, German and English football. There are great games at times and then there are some boring ones.”
Milan have a habit of making the Champions League a priority, but Van Bommel has his eyes on a second consecutive Italian championship.
“The Scudetto is at the top of my list because it is the most difficult to win. You play for an entire year for that trophy. The Champions League, even if it may seem more beautiful, is decided in less games.
“This season's favourites for the Champions League? Barcelona are the strongest side in Europe. They’ve been playing at this level for three years and they are still hungry.
“I’ve played for that club and when you wear that jersey you think that you are unbeatable.”
