PSV boss Mark van Bommel is reportedly on Milan’s list of prospective new Coaches to replace Gennaro Gattuso.

According to La Repubblica, Van Bommel is the latest name Milan are considering.

The Dutchman made 50 appearances for the Rossoneri between 2011 and 2012, helping them win their last Scudetto.

Although he is only in his first season at the helm of PSV, the 42-year-old has guided PSV to second in the Eredivisie, level on points with leaders Ajax with only two games left to play.

Although he is only in his first season at the helm of PSV, the 42-year-old has guided PSV to second in the Eredivisie, level on points with leaders Ajax with only two games left to play.

The former Netherlands midfielder has also been credited with promoting young players during his tenure, among them Diavolo target Steven Bergwijn.

The newspaper claims he promised to return to San Siro as a Coach when he left the club in the summer of 2012.

Van Bommel would be the latest in a long line of ex-Milan players to take the reins after the likes of Clarence Seedorf, Filippo Inzaghi and incumbent Gennaro Gattuso.
